BOSTON -- The teams with the two longest active winning streaks in the NBA got together at TD Garden on Sunday night, and it seemed only fitting they would need five extra minutes to decide a winner.

 

But TEN extra minutes?

 

Fifteen?

 

Jason Terry, who missed his first five shots in extra time, nailed a 3-pointer with 1:33 left, then stole the ball from Andre Miller as the Celtics earned their seventh straight win, a 118-114 triple-overtime triumph that ended Denver's nine-game run Concord 11s 2014.

 

Miller, who had 15 points, six assists and five rebounds off the bench, missed a 3-pointer that could have given the Nuggets the lead in the closing seconds. Terry (26 points off the bench) hit a meaningless layup at the buzzer.

CHICAGO -- Chicago's Carlos Boozer collected his eighth double-double in the past nine games, and the Atlanta Hawks set several records for offensive futility in a 97-58 loss to the Bulls on Monday at the United Center.

Atlanta held a 13-12 lead after ex-Bulls forward Kyle Korver hit two free throws with 6:37 left in the first quarter. From there, the Hawks scored just two points over the next 13 minutes as part of a 31-4 Bulls run.

 

The second quarter was stunningly bad. Atlanta hit two of 21 shots, committed seven turnovers and scored just five points, also the worst performance in franchise history.
